Educate Girls: Tackling Gender Inequality in Education
Educate Girls is a non-governmental organization that aims to address the root causes of gender inequality in India's educational system. Founded in 2007, their mission is to provide quality education for under-served and marginalized girls by improving access to education and school quality. With a focus on enrollment, retention, and learning, Educate Girls mobilizes public, private, and community resources to deliver measurable results.
One of the key strengths of Educate Girls is their partnership with the government, allowing them to leverage existing investments in schools and avoid duplication of services. Currently operating in 13 gender-gap districts in Rajasthan, their programs are implemented in over 12,000 schools and 8,000 villages. Over the past nine years, Educate Girls has successfully enrolled over 140,000 girls and witnessed improved learning outcomes in over 600,000 children.
